Play’n Go revives Annihilator’s debut album in the new metal release

More metal, more volatility and more fun features in the latest from the provider’s metal series

We love a risk taker here at Metal Casino, and we’re loving Play’n Go’s approach to their metal slot series even more. They’re not focussing on bands from the Big 4, but epic metal bands from all over the joint. Amongst the likes of Sabaton, Testament and more, Canadian thrash metal icons Annihilator have now been welcomed to the circle - and their slot is just as action-packed as the rest of them.

It may not be the hardest hitting slot we’ve seen from Play’n Go, but that’s not to say Annihilator isn’t filled with plenty of reasons to play. Apart from anything, the features are super fun and there’s a killer Annihilator playlist to select from as you shred - plus add in an RTP of 96.20%, high volatility and maximum prizes of up to 5,000 times your stake, and this five-by-three slot has some serious punch.

Enter the Bloodbath

As a classic thrash metal band, Annihilator sure has been represented well in their slot. It’s covered in bloodstained icons like the Annabelle doll from the Alice in Hell cover art, guitarist Jeff Waters signature Epiphone guitar, and Jeff Waters himself. If you’re familiar with the band at all, you’ll spot their slot a mile away - and failing that, you’ll hear it. The awesome thing about this slot is that it’s complete with an official Annihilator playlist for your leisure, so you can choose what you want to shred to. Hell yeah!

Features Rising

There are three pretty epic features to look out for in Annihilator, each of which can be quite lucrative in their own right. The first thing to note is that you’ve got two types of scatters to be looking out for in this slot: the doll bonus scatter and the free spins scatter.

We’ll start with the latter - the free spins scatter. Find three of these bad boys anywhere on the reels during the base game to trigger the Set the World on Fire Free Spins round, where you’ll kick things off with eight free spins. Each spin also includes a Jeff Waters expanding wild symbol, which will move with each spin to a random location on the reels. When this happens, it will leave behind a fiery trail from where it was before… and if any wilds land in that trail during free spins, the entire trail will also turn wild, which is pretty awesome in our books. Plus, each extra free spins scatter symbol that lands during the round will award two more free spins.

The other scatter is the doll bonus symbol, which can trigger the Fun Palace pick and click feature when you land three on reels two, three and four. Here, you’ll get to pick from a bunch of dolls to find multiplier bonuses. If you find 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x, you’ll get to pick again and all prizes will be accumulated… but find 10x, 15x, 25x or 50x and the round will come to an end. There is one other possibility, and that’s that you could find the free spins feature instead, in which case you’ll be taken straight to the free spins round without needing to find free spins scatters.

Finally, the In Command feature is a randomly triggered feature that sees any wilds expand to cover a reel. If this results in a win, awesome - if not, the wilds will hold in place while the reels continue to respin until a win is found.

Verdict

If you’ve been playing along as Play’n Go releases their metal slots, you may notice that Annihilator isn’t the hardest hitting slot of the lot… but it sure is still worth a whirl. And to be fair it’s hard to match their latest release with Testament, that was not only their most impressive metal slot to date, but also Play’n Go’s most volatile slot ever with it’s max win on crazy 20,000x… Annihilator is definitely worth a go, and we welcome it to the metal family with open arms. We’re giving the features a big horns up since there’s plenty to keep you going there - and we absolutely loved the playlist and that we, compared to when playing most slots, rather listened to the games soundtrack than anything else. Check it out and take it for a spin yourself!
