Nolimit City releases epic Western sequel by popular demand

New Deadwood slot takes players back to the Wild West for a feature-packed adventure

If you’re a fan of slots from the smaller providers, you might already be familiar with Nolimit City’s hit Tombstone slot, their highly volatile take on the Wild West saga. Well, off the back of that success, Nolimit City has now dropped Deadwood - and in our opinion, this ride is even more thrilling.

With the volatility a touch higher in this new sequel, Deadwood presents a 3-4-4-4-3-style grid to offer wins of up to 13,950 times your bet and a whole host of new features. The thing that really struck us when playing the slot is how much more interesting the base game becomes. Yes, the free spins feature is always where you want to aim for - but with a bunch of base game features like Hunter Wilds and xNudge Wilds, you’ll find Deadwood to be consistently thrilling the whole way through. The RTP of 96.03% may be slightly lower than its predecessor, but spread differently around the game, Deadwood definitely makes for a brand new slot adventure that is worth checking out.

Sling yo’ guns

Those that have played the original Tombstone slot will see a hint of the original in Deadwood - but once you start spinning, you’ll soon see the vast improvements. Created with a typical Wild West theme (think guns, saloons and plenty of scotch), Deadwood has truly ramped up the animations and graphics to present a much darker and captive game.

Full o’ features

Now, onto the fun part. Deadwood is absolutely loaded with features, so we’ll try to keep things simple here. The fun begins in the base game, where you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for Hunter Wilds. These are fully-stacking wild symbols that can appear on any of the three central reels. If they’re only partially in view, the xNudging Wilds feature will kick in to move them up and cover the entire reel - and with each nudge, a 1x multiplier will be added. Multipliers can also connect, so if you’ve got a few xNudging Wilds happening on the screen, you’ll see the multiplier grow quite quickly.

Also in the base game is the Shoot Out feature, which activates when you land a sheriff badge on both the first and fifth reels. When this occurs, you’ll see any low paying symbols transform into wilds. The Shoot Out feature can also come into play during free spins - but we’ll come back to this later.

Speaking of free spins - there are two different options to choose from, and you’ll get to choose if you land three buffalo symbols on the three central reels. It’s then time to pick from:

  • 8 Gunslinger Spins: A higher risk but higher potential win option where any Hunter Wild that lands will also increase the unlimited multiplier by 1x. The multiplier here never resets, so you could be in for some big ol’ wins if you get lucky.
  • 8 Hunter Spins: A less riskier option where you’ll have at least one new Hunter Wild land with every spin, but the multiplier resets between spins.

With both free spins rounds, you can earn an extra spin each time  the sheriff lands on either reels one or five. And if the sheriff lands on both simultaneously, he’ll trigger the Shoot Out Spins feature, which gives you another 10 free spins where any low paying symbol on the central three reels will turn wild. The Shoot Out Spins feature plays along with the original free spins round chosen - and ultimately it’s the Shoot Out Gunslinger Spins that is where you’ll find the highest prizes.

The Shoot Out feature can also be triggered directly from the base game by landing two sheriffs on reels one and five, plus three buffalos in reels two, three and four. Should this happen, you’ll again get to choose which free spins option you want to take, so you can play at your own risk level.

Finally, you also have the option to trigger the feature yourself by using the bonus buy option. This is going to cost you though - and to trigger Shoot Out Spins alone, it’s going to cost you a whopping 750 times your bet.

The Wild West ain’t dead

Not every game provider has successfully pulled off the Wild West theme in a slot - but Nolimit City can now proudly say they’ve done it twice. Deadwood is pure fun - it’s dark, it’s gritty and it’s packed with features in every aspect of the game, so it’s hard to lose interest. Personally, we think it’s a huge step up from the original slot (which was already a winner), and Deadwood is definitely a slot we’re excited to bring our players. Let the gunslinging action begin!
