Thunderkick’s new beast is raising the temperature

The third instalment of this high volatility series is sure to excite with hotter-than-hell prizes

If you’ve been following our posts thus far, you may already be familiar with the first two games from the Beat the Beast series: the kraken and the sphinx. When creating what will eventually be a five-part series, Thunderkick announced all games would be a mix of classic slot thrills with simple yet thrilling features to award high volatility prizes. And so far, we haven’t been disappointed.

Beat the Beast: Cerberus’ Inferno is the third game to hit our screens, and it’s probably the darkest slot yet. Based on Greek mythology, it features a nasty-looking three-headed dog that guards the exit of the underworld. In keeping with the theme, there are maximum prizes of up to 6,666x your stake to be won, with the RTP sitting at a generous 96.15% by default. The volatility isn’t quite as high as the first two slots in the series, but it’s definitely still up there - and if you’re in the mood for something new, fast and hard, Cerberus’ Inferno could definitely be a winner.

The Hound of Hades

What we’re enjoying about the Beat the Beast series is that Thunderkick really seems to be delving deep into history and mythology to find their creatures. These games aren’t about your typical dragons and werewolves, but actual creatures that exist within folklore and legend. Cerberus’ Inferno is probably our favourite so far, since the theme of hell (or the Greek underworld, but it’s basically the same thing) really lays out the perfect setting for a game of this nature. It’s dark, it’s fiery and it’s full of gnarly-looking symbols that are sure to put you in the mood for some serious shredding.

Underworld features

None of the slots from the Beat the Beast series have been particularly feature-heavy yet, but Cerberus’ Inferno is actually even a little lighter. That doesn’t make for an uneventful game though, and there’s still definitely enough happening to keep you occupied.

There are two types of wilds to look out for - one regular, and one that doubles as a scatter. Regular wilds will always appear stacked which is pretty cool, since it increases the chances of landing a win. Then three, four or five of the latter of the wilds can trigger an instant win of 2x, 20x or 200x your win, along with 10 free spins.

During free spins, the nine regular paylines transform into a 243-ways-to-win situation, where wins can run left to right and backwards. This feature can also be retriggered by landing additional scatters during the round.

Extra heads, extra reasons to play

Despite the lightness in features, we personally feel Beat the Beast: Cerberus’ Inferno is our favourite of the series so far. It’s fast, it’s got epic prizes up for grabs, and the hellish theme is enough to pique our interest. We’re still looking forward to the final two releases of the series from Thunderkick, but it’s safe to say we’ll be spinning this slot for a while.
